A Photography Exhibit on Thoroughbred Racing
Horse Racing is the collaboration of two athletes, man and horse. Unlike games of chance, it is a game of skill where the road to success is long and hard, requiring passion, pride and perseverance.
The Manila Jockey Club (MJC), Southeast Asia’s oldest racing club founded in 1867. The Camera Club of the Philippines (CCP) on the other hand is the oldest photographic society in the Philippines established in 1928. Both are proud to present “PRIDE AND GLORY: RACING AT SAN LAZARO”. It is an exhibit on thoroughbred racing, showcasing images captured through the lenses of CCP members.
The modern thoroughbred is said to be the perfect athlete. Witness the spectacle as these four legged animals gallop at full speed and power their way to the finish line.
Basking in the glory of the winner’s circle does not by itself make a good jockey. A great jockey is one who is fearless and has strength of character. At the same time, he is connected in mind and heart to his mount.
From the time the horses and jockeys conclude their morning runs up to the instant they burst out of the starting gates, every magnificent moment is captured and immortalized through the wonder of photography. At the country’s premier race course, racing at San Lazaro is guaranteed to be a thrilling and memorable experience. The 77-hectare San Lazaro Leisure and Business Park features twin oval dirt track, world-class turf building and fine dining facilities.
The exhibition will run from the 22nd to the 28th of August 2011 at the South Court, Ground Floor of the Power Plant Mall.
